In no particular order

Tyson
Holyfield
Ali
Frazier
Foreman

Any top 5 list without Tyson is Bonkers IMO. Liston is a bum and shouldn't even be mentioned after his antics in the Ali fight.

Joe Louis
Muhammad Ali
Larry Holmes
George Foreman
Lennox Lewis

Honorable Mention : Marciano, Dempsey, Johnson, Tyson, Vitali Klitschko, Holyfield, Frazier.

That's just in terms of resume. If we are talking a head to head tournament the #1 Heavyweight would be Lennox Lewis

The thing about Lewis or Marciano is it's really hard to think they could hang with the Ali's, Frazier's or Tyson.

Giving them respect and credit is different than having them top 5 ever.

Ali
Frazier
Holyfield
Foreman
Tyson

Larry Holmes may be the most underrated HV Champ. Guy did not lose until his 49th fight and defended his title 20 straight times. He was pretty much done when he fought Tyson.

Tyson was great for a 3-4 year span. Many experts do not have him in the top 10. Hard to believe because from 85-89 the guy was invincible. He did not beat anyone of great substance after he beat Spinks and many argue he never beat anyone his whole career of top caliber in their prime quality. Holyfield and Lewis were easily the two best fighters he faced and got owned in all those fights.

Holmes was a great fighter, but my lasting memory of him was the street fight with Trevor Berbick. Berbick was bitching about Holmes fighting dirty, then the SOB comes out of nowhere with a dropkick.

Tyson after hearing about his childhood makes me understand how people in his life used him. They knew how to trigger his anger. Just speaking about his side issues

George Foreman was the most likable IMO of the bunch.

Big George was a nasty/surly person until he made his comeback. He lost everything, found religion and humility. Those trials made him the likable person that he is today. Young George, I would never want to walk past in a dark ally. He would have beaten the crap out of you for the fun of it.

DSmith is right.

Word on the streets of Houston was that the only person in Houston that was scarier than Lester Hayes was Big George Foreman.

Ali
Joe Louis
Mike Tyson
Rocky Marciano
Tank Murdock

I think Ali is greatest ever. Just too fast and so tough. But argument can be made for others

Marciano never lost but the argument there is he never saw competition like some of the others on list did.

Any list without Joe Louis is crazy. He may be the greatest heavyweight ever but held on too long because of financial reasons. Older guys like jack Johnson and Dempsey are also worth making it for sure. One thing to consider though is that Dempsey was small, in today's boxing he wouldn't even be a light heavy weight. But was mean as ****.

Left the 5th spot open because it was too hard to decide. Holyfield foreman someone fits I am sure

What about Tysons antics? Get your *** handed to you and revert to biting ears off.

Tyson, before prison had one of the greatest runs in boxing history. It's the classic cautionary tale, but Iron Mike, in his prime, was def top 5. Obviously going to prison in your prime hurts you and Tyson had his demons, but I don't believe there are 5 boxers ever that could have beaten him in his prime.

If Tyson had a figure to keep him in check like Custamado before his death then he more than likely would have had a much more stable career imo and we would all be asking who could beat him. But Holyfield was ideal for matching mikey
