Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton four-star wide receiver Debron Gatling announced Wednesday that he is visiting Alabama this weekend for the Crimson Tide’s game against Texas A&M. This trip will mark Gatling’s third visit to Tuscaloosa and first since April 12.

Gatling is the No. 284 overall prospect and No. 42 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 39 player in Georgia.

The Crimson Tide offered the 6-foot-2, 175 pound wideout on June 22. Gatling spoke with Joseph Hastings of BamaInsider in July about what the offer from Alabama meant to him.

“I was really excited,” Gatling told Hastings. “It’s Bama. They produce a lot of NFL receivers that are good now. If you do your stuff at Alabama, you’ll go in the first round.”

“The whole coaching staff likes me. They really like my ball skills,” Gatling added. “They said they like my route running for my age. Size with really good route running. [Robinson] said he likes my speed, but he knows that I can get faster. Said to keep working on my speed and long distance, and I’ll be good.”

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Crimson Tide have a close lead for Gatling’s commitment at 25.5%. Georgia has the next-best odds at 15.1%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Gatling has an On3 NIL Valuation of $33K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
