Following Alabama’s Sugar Bowl win over Kansas State, three Crimson Tide players have declared for the NFL Draft. Those NFL Draft declarations were Jahmyr Gibbs, Will Anderson, and Bryce Young.

In the NFL Draft, these players will all likely be high picks. That means that they will all also likely be on different teams. This could spell out bad news for Bryce Young, who will be staring down the barrel of Anderson’s edge rushing skills.

“Please take it easy,” Bryce Young joked.

“Remember all the good times we had … Before we play I’ll probably send him a picture of us from freshman year together.”

Times certainly have been good for Bryce Young and Will Anderson at Alabama. In their last game, they won the Sugar Bowl. The year before, Young won the Heisman Trophy and Will Anderson finished fifth in the voting. That team also won the SEC and played for a national championship.

Over the past two seasons, Alabama has posted a 24-4 record.

Both Bryce Young and Will Anderson are expected to be high first-round picks. In Mel Kiper Jr’s latest big board, both players are top-four prospects.

Bryce Young reacted to his Sugar Bowl performance

Bryce Young thrived in the Sugar Bowl, ultimately being named the game’s MVP. After the game, he responded to the performance.

“I’ve listened to coach, I’ve been blessed to have the teammates I do around me. All the success that I have, whatever personal accolades come, I can’t do that without my teammates, without my coaches, my family and all the supporters. I’m really just grateful for everyone and also for the support of the fans and everyone in Alabama nation. … That’s the reason I am who I am,” Bryce Young said.

“It wasn’t always perfectly smooth, especially at the beginning. But through ups and downs, we’ve always leaned on each other throughout the year. Again, I have all the confidence in the world in my guys and we get one each other, we play for each other. When things aren’t looking too good, we know we can lean on each other and we did that today.”
