Arkansas pitcher Jake Feherty made exactly the kind of mistake you don’t want to make against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday evening. In the bottom of the tenth inning, Feherty was fielding a routine ground ball, picked it up, and simply threw the ball way over the first baseman’s head, allowing a Mason Swinney to score, bringing home the game winning run.

It’s a brutal way to end a game, but the Crimson Tide will take it any way they can get it. Tide center fielder T.J. McCants was the player who drove in the game-winning RBI.

Arkansas trailed 3-2 entering the top of the ninth inning, but Peyton Holt blasted a solo home run with two outs to keep the Hogs chances alive.

It was a big win for Alabama, as they improved their record to 23-12 overall. Arkansas fell to 30-4 overall with the loss, snapping their impressive 11-game winning streak. The Hogs are 12-2 in the SEC. Arkansas will need to win on Sunday to clinch the series.

The Hogs are the nation’s top-ranked team. They’ve got a number of talented pitchers on their staff, and they’re led by Wehiwa Aloy on offense. He leads the team with nine home runs and 34 RBIs.

The Hogs got two hits and one run from their superstar, Peyton Stovall. Alabama had three different pitchers fire three strikeouts Greg Farone, Tyler Fay, and Alton Davis II. Mason Molina threw six strikeouts for the Hogs in the loss. Molina threw 101 pitches and 67 total strikes.

The Razorbacks defeated Alabama 5-3 on Friday night to continue their best start in school history. The Hogs scored five runs in three innings and got a dominant showing from Hagen Smith to get the win.

Game 3 of the series between the Hogs and Tide will be on Sunday, April 14th. That one will be televised at 1:00 PM CST on SEC Network+. Alabama’s next SEC series is when they come up against the Texas A&M Aggies. The Tide will face them on Thursday April 18th, Friday, April 19th, and Saturday, April 20th. All three of those games will be in Tuscaloosa.

Arkansas next series in the SEC is when they face off against South Carolina on Friday, April 19th, Saturday, April 20th, and Sunday, April 21st. All of those games will be in Columbia, South Carolina and will be aired on SEC Network+.
