The recruitment of Covington (Ga.) Eastside four-star linebacker Christian Gass has continued to pick up as he prepares for his senior season.

Gass has been on the move taking visits so far in 2024. Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Auburn and Florida have all had him on campus since January. He’s hopping right back on the horse following the conclusion of the dead period, too.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder will be in Tuscaloosa for a visit with Alabama this weekend, he announced via social media. Kalen DeBoer and the new Crimson Tide staff could be the next to offer the Peach State prospect.

Gass is the No. 262 overall prospect and No. 29 LB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 36 player in Georgia.

Gass is just one of many blue-chippers that’s expected to be in T-Town this week. Carrollton (Ga.) five-star quarterback Julian Lewis and Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham are among the elite names set to be on campus.

DeBoer, Bama finding momentum on the recruiting trail

The first big win of the DeBoer era in the 2025 class came over the weekend, as Saraland (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman flipped back to the Crimson Tide from Auburn. He is the No. 124 overall prospect and No. 11 DL in the cycle.

Coleman is the former teammate of Five-Star Plus+ WR Ryan Williams, who signed with Bama in February after re-committing to the in-state SEC program.

“He’s definitely a straightforward guy,” Coleman told BOL regarding Coach DeBoer after his visit to Alabama in February. “He wants to win. His message to me was that they want me. If I go up there, I’m definitely going to have to work.”

Alabama’s 2025 class is now back to three commits and ranks No. 9 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Pike Road (Ala.) Carver four-star running back Anthony Rogers headlines the trio as a top-75 recruit and No. 5 player at his position.

Rogers remained in the Tide’s 2025 class despite the retirement of Nick Saban, as did Brewton (Ala.) Tr Miller three-star LB Myles Johnson.

“I’m still committed to Bama, but I do have an open recruitment and I look forward to seeing what other colleges have for me and what opportunity they can give me,” Rogers told BOL in January. “But I’m still committed to Bama right now.”
