Class of 2024 interior offensive lineman Joseph Ionata of Clearwater (FL) Calvary Christian announced his commitment to Alabama Saturday morning.

The 6-foot-5, 295 pounder chose the Crimson Tide over Florida, Miami, and Ole Miss.

Alabama checked every box for Joseph Ionata

“The ability to go against the best competition in the nation every day, where you have to elevate your game to survive, is really, what ultimately drew me to Bama,” Ionata said. “The standard that everyone in the organization holds and how they continue to stay hungry and are never satisfied is super important. On top of all that, the campus and college life checks all my boxes for what I was looking for in a college.”

Coach Wolford played a key role in Ionata’s decision

“Coach Wolford has been in constant communication with my family and I since March,” Ionata said. “He is such an amazing person and Coach, and is the person that I believe will help develop me to reach the NFL. He sees me as an interior guy working mostly at center.”

The Sunshine State offensive lineman joins coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide’s Top 3 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by five-star quarterback Julian Sayin, five-star athlete Jaylen Mbakwe, and others.

Ionata ranks as the No. 923 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 73 interior offensive lineman and the No. 124 player in the state of Florida.

He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly listed. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
