Alabama guard Nimari Burnett is expected to rejoin the team in roughly two weeks, according to college basketball insider Seth Davis. Burnett has been recovering from wrist surgery over the past month.

Injuries have plagued the short career of Burnett thus far, missing all of the 2021-2022 season due to a torn ACL. He transferred into the Alabama program after initially committing to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Burnett is a former top-30 overall recruit from the Class of 2020, per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Before his injury, Burnett was averaging 7.9 points per game and 2.3 rebounds. He had a career-high 18 points back in November against Jacksonville State.

Alabama forward Darius Miles out for season with ankle injury

Junior forward Darius Miles will miss the rest of Alabama‘s 2022-2023 season with an ankle injury, per release. Miles sustained the injury during preseason camp and had been rehabbing ever since.

“After consulting with medical staff and Andrews’ Sports Medicine foot and ankle specialist Dr. Norman Waldrop, it was determined to withhold Miles from basketball activities moving forward and focus on his rehabilitation,” the release read.

He appeared in six games for the Crimson Tide this season and averaged 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds on the year.

It’s unclear as of the release whether or not Miles will have to undergo surgery, but he is expected to make a full recovery in time for the start of the 2023-2024 season.
