Alabama has become known for their ferocious inside pass rushers, and DJ Dale is hoping to be the next in a long line of terrific athletes.

Speaking with the media, the Crimson Tide defensive lineman evaluated his unit, praising the young players throughout the position group.

Jaheim Oatis has really been working hard. Isaiah Hastings, Khurtiss Perry — all of them guys are working really hard, and buying into the program,” stated Dale. “I feel like they’ll be really good when the time comes.”

Additionally, Dale spoke about how the interior defensive line is developing this summer, along with the potential the Alabama pass rush as a whole has in 2022.

“Just pushing the pocket,” added Dale. “All of those guys on the outside-backer room are really dynamic, explosive and fast. But rushing together is really going to be the biggest difference. I feel like we’re not going to have anybody rushing as an individual, and I feel like overall that will help our pass rush.”

With a bevy of tremendous quarterbacks littered throughout the SEC, a pass rush will be more important than ever for Alabama. DJ Dale is up for the challenge, and excited to get the season rolling.

DJ Dale explains why Jahmyr Gibbs is a vital part of Alabama’s offense: ‘He’s different’

Alabama transfer running back Jahmyr Gibbs is in the spotlight ahead of this season as he’s poised feature in what should be an excellent Crimson Tide offense. According to DJ Dale, one of his Alabama teammates on defense, Gibbs is going to shine even more once the season rolls around.

Dale, speaking to reporters recently, referred to Gibbs as “dynamic” and lauded his versatility as a runner and pass catcher. Dale is a defensive lineman and he also shared a personal anecdote about how Gibbs outfoxed him during a recent bit of practice.

“Honestly, he’s different,” Dale said. “Very dynamic. Can do anything. Run the ball, catch the ball. He’s shifty. He got me yesterday in practice in team run. I thought I could break down, he made me stop my feet, he stopped and kept going and he was gone.”

Luckily, Gibbs will be the opposing team’s problem in 2022 — DJ Dale will just be on the sidelines celebrating his touchdowns for the Crimson Tide.
