Four-star running back Justice Haynes of Roswell (GA) Buford High announced his commitment to Alabama Sunday afternoon.

The 5-foot-11, 200 pounder chose the Crimson Tide over Florida, Georgia, and Ohio State.

Haynes on why he chose Alabama

“The thing that stood out the most was definitely the development and the accountability,” Haynes said. “Coach Saban‘s gonna hold you accountable and keep the main thing the main things–which is working hard, going to school, going to class, and producing on the field.

Bama’s strength coaches and training staff are the best in the country. They’re going to keep you healthy, and at peak performance. Bama is going to develop me as a man on and off the field the most.

At the end of the day also it’s the school that felt like home to me. I resonated with a lot of the players, with Coach Saban, and coach Gillespie. I feel like I can go into Bama, leave a legacy, and do great things. Also, I felt like Alabama could develop me the best in baseball as well.”

Alabama’s plan for Justice Haynes

“They feel like I can catch the ball out the backfield, run between the tackles and outside, so they plan to use me as an all down back.”

Justice Haynes Scouting Summary

“Well-rounded, highly productive running back with few holes in his game,” On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “Has a developed, muscled frame at around 5-foot-11, 195 pounds. One of the more productive rushers in the 2023 cycle. Rushed for 2,375 yards and 29 touchdowns at 8.8 yards per carry as a junior. Has amassed over 5,800 yards and 72 rushing touchdowns through the first three years of his high school career.”

“Has a strong base. Runs with high-level contact balance, regularly running through arm tackles and bouncing off defenders at the second level. Shows good vision as a runner, making decisive reads and cuts at the line of scrimmage. Burst and top-end speed (electronically-timed 4.66 second 40-yard dash as a sophomore) are above average but not elite. Catches the ball well out of the backfield as a receiver. A rock solid running back prospect with a high floor. Has a NFL pedigree with his father playing in the league after a career as a running back at Georgia.”

Haynes ranks as the No. 45 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 4 running back and the No. 2 player in the state of Georgia.
