Former Alabama linebacker Trey DePriest was arrested in Ohio on Thursday morning, according to WHIO-TV.

DePriest is charged with armed robbery, assault and felonious assault stemming from an incident in Detroit back in November. Detroit police said US Marshals investigated a robbery at a hotel, and one person was injured after a shot was fired. The victim has since been released from the hospital.

“Once inside the hotel room the suspects attempted to rob the victim,” a police department statement read, via WHIO. “One of the two suspects fired a shot, striking the victim.”

He was arrested in his hometown of Springfield, Ohio. While starring at Springfield High School, DePriest was a four-star recruit and the No. 3 recruit in the state from the Class of 2011, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Police are still looking for another person who’s wanted for the same incident, WHIO reported.

DePriest starred at Alabama from 2011-14 and helped the Crimson Tide to back-to-back national championships during his freshman and sophomore years. He earned first team All-SEC honors as a senior in 2014 before heading to the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2015.

DePriest’s best season came in 2013 when he had 65 total tackles, 2.0 sacks and two forced fumbles as Alabama went 11-2 to earn a Sugar Bowl appearance.

Details emerge on former Alabama quarterback’s aggravated assault arrest

Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jay Barker was arrested earlier this month on felony aggravated assault charges. He was held on a $10,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on March 22. At the time of his arrest, public records showed that he was being held on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and he was placed on a 12-hour hold.

On Sunday, new details emerged about Barker’s arrest. According to a report by The Tennessean, Barker attempted to hit a group of people with his vehicle.

“Documents on file with Metro Nashville General Sessions Court said the people in the vehicle were leaving a party around 1:30 a.m. Saturday,” Cassandra Stephenson of The Tennessean wrote. “As they pulled into the driveway of a nearby home, Barker allegedly reversed his vehicle ‘at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them, but missed,’ according to the arrest affidavit.

“The vehicle’s occupants contacted police after Barker drove away from the home, the affidavit states. Police made contact with Barker when he later drove by the house. The passengers of the vehicle and an unidentified number of unnamed witnesses told police Barker “intentionally” tried to strike them.”
