Raleigh (Miss.) four-star linebacker and Ole Miss commit Suntarine Perkins took a visit Saturday to Alabama for its primetime matchup with Texas A&M.

He posted photos of the visit after the game, including shaking Nick Saban‘s hand and yakking it up with the all-time great coach.

Perkins is the No. 69 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the No. 3 linebacker in the 2023 On300 ranking, behind only Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln linebacker Raylen Wilson and Denton (Texas) Ryan linebacker Anthony Hill.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $151k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Despite being an Ole Miss commit, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Alabama a 94.8% chance of flipping Perkins.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Suntarine Perkins Scouting Summary

Dynamic two-way playmaker at the high school level with difference-making potential as a linebacker long-term. Size is unverified, but listed around 6-foot-3, 210 pounds. Has a high-cut build and looks to have plus length. Works as a running back and linebacker for his high school, which plays in a smaller classification in Mississippi. An athletic mover on defense with sideline to sideline range. Erases outside plays with his play speed and length. Shows considerable pop as a striker. Drives through ball carriers. Looks to be a natural operating in space, which is aided by his background as a safety. Flashes playmaking ability on offense, where he serves as a dominant running back. Rushed for 1,350 yards and 13 touchdowns on 9.4 yards per carry as a junior. Also caught five touchdowns. Out-athletes the competition with the ball in his hands. Uses his easy, natural stride to pull away from defenders in the open field. Looks to have taken a jump as a potential box defender as a junior. Older for the class, turning 18 years-old during his junior season. Has the look of a high-responder once in a college strength and conditioning program, given his frame and growth potential.
