Ohio transfer Mark Sears has committed to Nate Oats and the University of Alabama, he tells On3.

“I picked Alabama because their style of play fits my game, and I know I can be successful in that system,” said Sears.

The 6-foot-1 point guard grew up in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, just a couple of hours away from the Tide in Tuscaloosa. Coming out of high school, Sears was considered a three-star recruit, earning mostly mid-major offers before choosing to play for Ohio University.

In his sophomore year with the Ohio Bobcats, Sears had an incredible season. The Alabama native averaged 19.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. The impressive season earned him First-Team All-MAC.
