As the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and consensus best quarterback in college football at the moment, Alabama star Bryce Young will have no shortage of suitors when he takes his talents to the NFL.

However, only one team will be able to acquire his services when the day comes. According to Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus, the Atlanta Falcons stand above the rest as the best fit for the Crimson Tide star.

“College fans in Georgia are unfortunately all too familiar with Young’s game,” began Renner. “The Alabama quarterback put together the single most impressive performance of any passer last year against the most talented collegiate defenses in at least the last decade.

“Even with options on the roster, a franchise quarterback is still atop the Falcons’ wishlist for the 2023 draft.”

The Falcons are going through a transformative period at quarterback, as they just traded away their long-time signal caller Matt Ryan. Afterwards, the team signed former Oregon star Marcus Mariota, as well as bringing in former Cincinnati star Desmond Ridder during the 2022 NFL Draft. Still, their future at quarterback is far from certain.

If the Falcons can swing bringing Bryce Young to their franchise, the future is brighter than ever. Time will tell what happens, but Atlanta will have their eye on the star quarterback throughout the 2022 season.

SEC names Alabama QB Bryce Young as Roy F. Kramer Athlete of the Year

The SEC announced Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young as the Roy F. Kramer Athlete of the Year on Wednesday, alongside his female counterpart South Carolina forward Aliyah Boston.

The award is yet another accolade for the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner.

Along with the Heisman and Kramer Athlete of the Year awards, Bryce Young won Player of the Year from the Associated Press and The Sporting News in 2021. He also captured the Maxwell Award, the Davey O’Brien Award and the Manning Award.

Following his historic first year at the helm for the Tide, Young was a consensus first-team All-American.

“Bryce and Aliyah are the remarkable examples of what it means for a young person to fully participate as a student and as an athlete in the Southeastern Conference,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey wrote in the release. “Both Aliyah and Bryce were honored with their sport’s national player of the year award as they each held themselves to the highest standards of competitive excellence. We are proud of both and grateful for their outstanding representation of the Southeastern Conference and of the accomplishments they have achieved as members of their university communities.”

Young finished the 2021 season with 4,872 yards, 47 passing touchdowns, a 66.9% completion rate and just seven interceptions.
