Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood four-star quarterback Dylan Lonergan is one of the top players in the 2023 cycle. He is the No. 78 overall prospect and No. 9 quarterback in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Lonergan demonstrated what made him one of the nation’s highest-touted quarterbacks during Saturday’s matchup against Norcross (Ga.) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

With nearly 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter, the 6-foot-1, 220 pound quarterback sat in the pocket and lofted a pass to wide receiver Lee Niles. A defender went up to defend the pass, but Lonergan placed the throw perfectly. Niles came down with the ball for a touchdown, helping Brookwood defeat Norcross 28-24.

Lonergan also tossed a touchdown at the end of the second quarter. Even though his downfield heave was blocked upward near the end zone, wide receiver Bryce Dopson was able to reel in the pass and run in for a score as the clock showed triple zeroes.

The four-star recruit also added a two-yard touchdown on a quarterback sneak later in the game.

Lonergan is the seventh-highest-rated recruit in Alabama’s 2023 recruiting class, which ranks No. 1 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. He is the Crimson Tide’s second quarterback commit alongside Zachary (La.) four-star Eli Holstein, the No. 59 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

Lonergan has an On3 NIL Valuation of $333K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Dylan Lonergan On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Dylan Lonergan:

“Talented passer who doubles as a standout on the gridiron and the baseball diamond. Highly touted baseball prospect who holds multiple Power 5 baseball offers, with the possibility of being a MLB Draft pick. Shows touch and accuracy as a passer at all levels of the field. Layers the football well, but can turn up the heat if needed on tight window throws. Productive while facing strong competition. Threw for nearly 3,400 yards and 32 touchdowns with just 3 interceptions as a junior.

Mobile and creative with his legs. Ran for over 600 yards and 7 touchdowns as a junior. Has a stocky build, measuring between 6-foot-1 and 6-foot-2 and around 220 pounds. Mechanics can falter when the pocket collapses. Arm talent combined with his accuracy makes him one of the safer quarterback prospects in the country despite being on the older end for his class. Father was a quarterback at Penn State in the early 1980’s and won a national championship with them in 1982.”
