After a controversial call for an Alabama touchdown did not go in favor of Tennessee, the Volunteers responded in a huge way. The Crimson Tide scored on a quarterback scramble by quarterback Bryce Young, putting them up 31-17 early in the fourth quarter. The Volunteers responded with this 70-yard strike to bring them back within seven.

On the second play of the drive, Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker found his receiver, Cedric Tillman, on a go route down the Alabama sideline. Tillman easily beat the Crimson Tide defender to the end zone for the touchdown. That brought the score to 31-24 early in the fourth.

But the Alabama Crimson Tide would answer right back. They just took their next drive all the way down the field for another touchdown. Currently, Alabama is leading 38-24 with just under 13 minutes remaining in the game.

Tennessee fought hard

Tennessee has been responding to all the shots they have taken from Alabama the best they can. To start the game, the Crimson Tide took their opening possession 85 yards down the field for the first score of the game. That time around the Volunteers responded with a 1-2 punch of their own, scoring back-to-back touchdowns, on consecutive drives.

The game up until the fourth quarter has been a close hard-fought battle. However, here in the fourth quarter, Alabama has completely taken over the game. In the fourth quarter, the Crimson Tide has scored on four straight drives. And all four have been touchdowns, ballooning their lead to 28. Alabama takes this battle 52-24 and improves to 7-1 on the season. Tennessee falls to 4-4 and is 1-2 in conference play.

The Tennessee Volunteers put up a hard fight for three-fourths of the game. There are no moral victories in rivalry games, but Tennessee has to like what they saw from their team for the majority of this game. Now they will need to take the positives from tonight and make something of them going forward.
