Sammie Yeanay, a four-star power forward in the 2024 class, has committed to Arizona State.

The 6-foot-9, 220-pound senior out of Compass Prep (AZ) chose the Sun Devils over a final group of Ohio, Florida, Washington State, and Utah.

“Coaches at ASU were the most consistent with recruiting,” Yeanay said to On3. “They were always communicating with me via text/phone and coming to my practices. The ASU coaching also staff gave me a blueprint that I felt most comfortable.”

In his own words, what type of player is Arizona State getting in Sammie Yeanay?

“Three-level scorer and an underrated passer. Although I am an inch or two shorter than Embiid, my game has a resemblance! I can consider myself a three/stretch four. I am super versatile because I can also guard multiple positions.”

He has a message for Sun Devil fans.

“The goal is to win! I am coming to ASU to WIN! Go Sun Devils!”

Yeanay is the third player to commit to Arizona State this cycle, joining four-star SF Amier Ali (No. 63) and three-star C Jaden Smith (No. 239).

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Yeanay, a Gainesville, Fla. native, is the No. 99 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 17 power forward prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
