Four-star running back Jason Brown of Seattle (WA) O’Dea High announced his commitment to Arizona State Tuesday night.

The 5-foot-10, 195 pounder chose the Sun Devils over Oregon and Washington.

“Arizona State provides everything I look for in a school. From the academics to the football asu checked off all the box’s for me and my family. The love and overall feel from the coaching staff is what sold me completely. They were so honest and genuine with me throughout the recruiting process and always made it clear where I stood with them. I truly believe that Coach Aguano and the rest of the coaching staff have a true belief that I could be an NFL caliber player, and they would do anything in their power to develop me into such. ASU is full of opportunities to become great only on the field, but off the field, having one of the best journalism schools in the world, provides me with the opportunity to show my other talents outside of football.”

His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him played a role in his decision as well.

“I have an amazing relationship with the coaching staff. Mostly dealing with Coach Aguano I have had a ton of conversations with many of the other coaches on staff. They seem very high on one cut ability and my versatility to make plays in space.”

The Evergreen State running back joins coach Kenny Dillingham and the Sun Devils’ top 55 2024 class. He is accompanied by three-star cornerback Chris Johnson, three-star wide receiver Elijah Baesa, and others.

“Lacks verified size. Listed at around 5-foot-10, 200 pounds. Would not be surprising if he was closer to 5-foot-9. Has a stout, compact build. Productive rusher who has dominated the competition in Washington over the course of his high school career. Plays in a run-heavy, under center offense. Downhill, decisive runner with good decisiveness. Reads his blocks and darts through the hole with confidence. Runs with a strong base and contact balance. Works to pick up yards after contact. Looks to be a natural pass catcher out of the backfield. Rushed for over 1,600 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior. Also sees some snaps on defense. Throws the shot put in track and field.Does not have any athletic markers aside from the shot put. Can improve burst and long speed.”

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $78K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
