San Francisco (Calif.) Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep three-star cornerback RL Miller announced his decommitment from Arizona State on Thursday night. He was previously pledged to the Sun Devils since June 29.

Miller is the No. 1,568 overall prospect and No. 140 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 146 player in California.

On3 rates Miller higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Miller is the No. 135 cornerback and No. 114 player in California.

“After thoughtful consideration and talks with my family and coaches I have decided to DECOMMIT from ASU,” Miller wrote in a statement published to social media. “Thank you to all the coaches who are taking time to speak and are helping me with this process. I am truly blessed to be in the position I’m in with my college recruitment process. Please respect my decision at this time as I explore all options and do what’s best for me and family.”

More on Arizona State’s 2023 recruiting class

Right now, the Sun Devils’ 2023 recruiting class contains eight high school prospects. Arizona State’s group is No. 105 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 12 in the Pac-12.

The Sun Devils’ highest-ranked recruit is McKinney (Texas) McKinney North three-star wide receiver Korbin Hendrix. He is the No. 682 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

A 6-foot-2, 175-pound defensive back, Miller has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
