Waxhaw (N.C.) Marvin Ridge three-star interior offensive lineman Kai Greer has decommitted from Arkansas, he announced on Monday night.

He was pledged to the Razorbacks since Aug. 30, when he chose the SEC program following a decommitment from Stanford.

Greer is the No. 563 overall prospect and No. 49 IOL in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 20 player in North Carolina.

“After evaluating the recent coaching changes at the University of Arkansas as well as talking with Coach Pittman and my family, I have made the difficult decision to decommit. I wish Coach Pittman and the team all the best moving forward,” Greer wrote.

He does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Razorbacks trying to retain Top-25 recruiting class in 2024 cycle

Arkansas’ recruiting class has been subjected to the rumor mill as National Signing Day is right around the corner. Greer is the latest to decommit, following Pine Bluff (Ark.) four-star wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield.

The Hogs’ class now features 18 commits and ranks No. 24 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The class also ranks 13th in the SEC.

Pine Bluff (Ark.) Wilbur D. Mills four-star defensive lineman Charleston Collins is the highest-ranked pledge in the class, as of Dec. 4. He is the No. 78 overall recruit, No. 11 DL and top-ranked player in Arkansas.

“It’s home,” Collins told On3 upon his commitment. “Me choosing to stay in-state is giving me an opportunity to be the voice and image of my home state. As a kid, everybody growing up wanted to be that man. I feel that me staying home and representing my state and knowing that I have the whole state behind me is going to be something special.”

Flanking Collins at the top of Sam Pittman’s pledge list is Temple (Texas) Lake Belton four-star cornerback Selman Bridges and Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point four-star WR Ashton Bethel-Roman, both of whom are top-200 prospects.

Four additional blue-chippers bolster the class: Leeds (Ala.) DL Kavion Henderson, Decatur (Ga.) Columbia running back Jadan Baugh, Batesville (Miss.) South Panola linebacker Julius Pope and Benton (Ark.) RB Braylen Russell.
