Arkansas was able to get revenge on Tuesday getting a win against LSU. SEC play began with a dud for the Razorbacks in Baton Rouge, being the Tigers’ only conference win of the year. Revenge was served just a few weeks later, with head coach Eric Musselman seeing his team win two games in a row.

There was definitely some personal beef being settled for Arkansas, with Anthony Black seemingly having a problem with LSU’s Adam Miller. Arkansas’ Davonte Davis was there in support as well, saying the goal was to hold Miller to his SEC scoring average.

“It wasn’t personal for me,” Davis said. “It was for Anthony. So, I will do whatever it takes to back up my teammates. So that’s what I did. (Miller) averages nine in conference so we tried to hold him to his average or under. But not too personal. I’ve guarded better people.”

Black was a little more direct with how he felt, saying Miller did “nothing” all game. He finished with nine points (his SEC average), no assists, and just one rebound.

“You saw what happened last game,” Black said. “It kind of gave us a little chip on our shoulder. They were feeling themselves a little bit. He was feeling himself a little bit after the last game — even though he did nothing.”

Dating back to the Dec. 28 matchup, Miller had seven points on two of nine shooting, adding four rebounds and two assists. LSU was able to get the win though, letting Miller do all of the talking he would want to.

Black must have kept what Miller said in his back pocket, waiting for the rematch in Fayetteville. Even if both teams are struggling at the moment, the Arkansas-LSU rivalry can be a fun one.

“All the talking,” Black said. “It was quiet today. It was real quiet, all game.”

Davis finished things off by calling Miller and his performance “trash.”

Both Black and Davis finished in double figures, with the latter leading Arkansas in scoring. Combined, they had half of the team’s points on 10 of 17 shooting. It’s safe to say the duo performed better than Miller did on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, with Arkansas and LSU already facing off twice, they will not meet again in the regular season. If we are going to see them on the court again, Nashville will be the site in the SEC Tournament. For now, no tiebreaker is on the schedule. And with some potentially leaving at the end of the year for the NBA, we may never get one.
