The Arkansas Razorbacks hit the beach in Spain during their downtime between games on their euro-tour this week.

Head coach Eric Musselman posted a highlight video of their day in the sun that included a spirited game of football in the surf. The video strongly channeled Top Gun: Maverick, which is now the seventh-highest grossing film of all time at the U.S. box office. The video team also spliced in well-timed commentary from previous Arkansas football games to match the highlights of the game.

Musselman teased the video on Twitter with the caption: “26 days until Razorback Football.”

The Elite 8 head coach heading into his fourth season with the program also tweeted at former Arkansas first-round draft pick Treylon Burks for feedback on his catching technique.

Burks responded, “Now that’s money,” with an emoji covering its eyes.

The Arkansas hoops team is keeping up a running blog of their adventures in Europe. Day one in Valencia included a trip to the aquarium L’Oceanogràfic with Devo Davis.

The Hogs play their first game versus Valencia Seleccion on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Musselman tops social engagement rankings once again

All the creative content the Arkansas media team is putting out has helped sustain head coach Eric Musselman’s dominance in Skull Sparks’ rankings. Each month, the analytics group releases a ranking of college coaches and their social media engagement/interactions.

Musselman posted a video on Aug. 6 of him crossing off the month of July as he tracks his wins month-to-month. He’s won every month so far this year and his 119,000 interactions in July dwarfed John Calipari’s by roughly 75,000.
