As the regular season nears its finale, many players will be faced with the tough decision of staying at their school for another season or moving on to bigger and better. One of those players for Arkansas is wide receiver Jadon Haselwood, who joined the team this season as a transfer from Oklahoma this season. Head coach Sam Pittman was asked about the status of Haselwood’s plans for the future, and addressed his along with others on the team.

“I don’t know because my meeting set up with all those guys, guys like that, you know (Isaiah) Nichols, (Simeon) Blair, those guys like that, I’m gonna have a conversation with them Monday and I’ll know more after that,” Pittman said.

Many Razorback seniors will have a remaining year of eligibility granted due to COVID-19, and Pittman made it clear to them, like he made it clear to linebacker Bumper Pool, that their invite back to Fayetteville for another season is always open.

“But it’s just like the senior night I was telling them all ‘hey we can do this twice’, I didn’t say that to Bump because he’s already done it,” Pittman said. “And I told the parents, Luke Jones would be a guy obviously we’d like to come back, though will just see.”

Haselwood reached career highs in receptions and receiving yards this season with 52 catches for 628 yards this season, and will likely have a shot at playing at the next level, which will be one of the many factors that players will have to sort out in their decision.

“And it just depends on where their draft status is honestly and do they want to come back for another year or do they want to go into the real world,” Pittman said.

Pittman also shared his thought process regarding the timing of having that important conversation with his seniors, as he tries to balance preparing for the remainder of their current season along with figuring out what his roster will look like next year.

“I thought about it, to be honest with you, about well let’s have the conversation before and that way won’t walk but I thought who cares you know?” Pittman asked. “They get two football’s instead of one, two senior nights would be something to talk about, so we’ll try to address all that on Monday.”
