Arkansas offensive coordinator Dan Enos is out as a member of head coach Sam Pittman staff’s after a 2-6 start to the season, On3’s Matt Zenitz reported Sunday.

Wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton will take over as the play caller for the offense, the team announced.

“Arkansas Head Coach Sam Pittman has relieved offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dan Enos of his duties and he is no longer a member of the Razorbacks’ program effective immediately. Wide receivers coach and former Ohio State quarterback Kenny Guiton will take over play calling duties for the Hogs for the remainder of the season,” Arkansas’ press release on the move said.

Enos was in his first season of his second tenure with the Razorbacks as their offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He had previously served in the role from 2015-2017 under Bret Bielema.

Arkansas has lost six straight games, including an brutal 7-3 loss to Mississippi State this past weekend. The Razorbacks managed only 200 yards of offense the entire game.

“It’s disappointing because I’m the head coach at Arkansas, and this state deserves better, and that’s the biggest disappointment,” Pittman said. “Because we’ve got kids in there playing their hearts out; we just got to figure out a way to score some points.”

KJ Jefferson completed 19 of his 31 passes but only for 97 yards with one interceptions. He also had 38 yards on the ground on 16 carries.

Star running back Raheim “Rocket” Sanders did not play in the game. He injured his knee in the season opener and has missed five of the team’s eight games this year.

Pittman was asked after the game about making any changes to the team’s staff before the season ends.

“I don’t really want to answer that,” he said.

The Razorbacks got their answer soon enough.

Guiton has been the wide receivers coach for the Razorbacks since the 2021 season. He joined the team from Colorado State, where he held the same position. The 32-year-old coach has only been a graduate assistant, quality control coach and wide receivers coach in his young coaching career.

Enos was hired to replace Kendal Briles, who departed for the offensive coordinator role at TCU. He came over from Maryland, where he had been the offensive coordinator for two seasons. Enos has also been a Power Five offensive coordinator at Miami and the head coach at Central Michigan.
