Arkansas is continuing to get victories over Kansas, both in collegiate athletics and in the Twittersphere.

Despite trailing by double digits in the second half, the Razorbacks fought their way back against the Jayhawks on Saturday to claim a 72-71 victory and advance to the Sweet Sixteen. It is the 14th Sweet Sixteen appearance in program history, as well as their third straight under coach Eric Musselman.

Meanwhile, the reigning champions of the college basketball world in Kansas have seen their time at the top end. Afterwards on Twitter, Arkansas Men’s Basketball took it to the Jayhawks once again, this time coming after them for the pronunciation of their state.

“IT’S PRONOUNCED KANSAW,” tweeted the team’s account, with a picture of an Arkansas flag.

Continuing, the trolling didn’t stop there for the Razorbacks. Some of the Arkansas staff members rocked Liberty Bowl pullovers prior to the game. Of course, Arkansas and Kansas faced off in this year’s edition of the game, where the Razorbacks were victorious over the Jayhawks football program.

Sam Pittman‘s squad set the table for Musselman, defeating Kansas 55-53 back on Dec. 28. In that game, Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson led the Razorbacks to victory with a four-touchdown performance, two rushing and two passing.

It may be awhile before Kansas gets their shot at revenge against Arkansas, as it’s not like the two squads face off each season. The fact that their football team and basketball team both faced off in their biggest games of the season is irony at its finest. Nevertheless, the Razorbacks have some extraordinary bragging rights over the Jayhawks at the moment.

While Kansas sits at home, Arkansas awaits the victor of the game between Saint Mary’s and Connecticut on Sunday. Both teams were seeded ahead of the Razorbacks, but it’ll be hard to find someone who doesn’t believe in what Arkansas is doing at the moment.

If they can continue their run, a potential matchup with UCLA looms large for Arkansas, which could stand in the way of a Final Four berth. We bet Musselman and company aren’t focused on that at the moment, but it’s fun to look ahead.

For Sunday, Arkansas will enjoy their clinched trip to the Sweet Sixteen, and await their opponent, while basking in their bragging rights over Kansas.
