The Arkansas Razorbacks are hot out of the gates in Saturday’s 2022 NCAA Stillwater Regional matchup vs. the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Brady Slavens blasted a solo shot out of the park to put the Razorbacks on the board in the first inning.

Check it out here.

Slavens is one of the best power hitters on the Arkansas club. The solo shot on Saturday gives him 14 homeruns and 48 RBIs for the 2021-2022 college baseball season. The Razorbacks have a number of other hitters that have cleared double-digit homeruns this year–Cayden Wallace and Braydon Webb.

As a junior, Slavens made the ABCA South All Region Second Team. Before ending up in Fayetteville, he played for Wichita State (2019) and Johnson County Community College (2020). While at junior college–he was named the JUCO Baseball Blog National Player of the Year.

Arkansas makes furious comeback against Oklahoma State

The Arkansas Razorbacks completed an incredible comeback against Oklahoma State in the eighth inning after a pitching meltdown. With the bases loaded and one out in the top of the eighth inning, Oklahoma State gave up four straight free bases for runs — including three walks and a hit by pitch.

Finally, the Cowboys pulled their pitcher after giving up the four runs with bases still loaded. Unfortunately, Arkansas wasn’t finished with their barrage as Jalen Battles blasted a grand slam over the wall, taking a commanding 16-10 lead in an eight-run inning.

The Razorbacks finished the inning without another score but the damage was already done. From a 5-2 deficit after the third inning, Arkansas held the largest lead of the game midway through the eighth-inning. If Arkansas can hold their lead, they would remain the only unbeaten team of the Stillwater regional, shocking the Cowboys.
