Arkansas lost their ninth overall and fifth in conference play with their 26-point defeat at Ole Miss on Wednesday. However, the Razorbacks weren’t whole with two of their forwards either hampered or unavailable altogether.

Eric Musselman discussed the health of those two players during his postgame press conference following the 77-61 loss to the Rebels. He started with Tramon Mark, Arkansas’ leader in scoring and steals, who missed the contest in Oxford due to a migraine he has been dealing with this week.

“T-Mark hasn’t practiced. Didn’t practice Monday or Tuesday. Obviously has a migraine,” said Musselman. “I’m not a doctor. He has got a migraine so that is what it is.”

In his first season with the ‘Hogs, Mark is averaging 17.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and just under a steal a game. He is doing so efficiently as well by shooting better than 50% from the field and 40% from deep. During SEC play, those have bumped up to 19.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals on 46% shooting from the field.

Mark missed his second game of the year, though, with the notable headache.

In the case of Trevon Brazile, he did appear against Ole Miss. Still, a soreness in his knee limited him to just a dozen minutes off the bench, which his well of his usual total of near 30 minutes a game.

“With Brazile? His knee has had soreness since Monday’s live practice,” said Musselman. “Just wasn’t able to go in the second half.”

Brazile scored three points at the charity stripe in the game. He also grabbed four rebounds, earning a steal, and committing three turnovers during his minutes. All of that came in the first half with that knee holding him out over the final 20 minutes.

With all this said, Musselman isn’t making excuses. His roster has depth and, as such, he’s more than willing to dive into it to find someone to fill into their lineup. He also isn’t going to pretend like injuries are something that only Arkansas is currently dealing with.

“I think injuries allow other people to step up and try to garner more minutes. So other guys got opportunities tonight,” said Musselman. “It allowed other people opportunities to play. Then you go back, you watch the film, and try to dissect the players that got the extra minutes.

“Every team goes through injuries. Every team goes through players in and out of the lineup,” Musselman said.

At just one game over .500, it’s going to take all hands on deck for the Razorbacks to save their season over the next month. That includes Mark and Brazile with their statuses and availability remaining up in the air ahead of an important, primetime opportunity against No. 6 Kentucky on Saturday.
