Four-star cornerback Selman Bridges of Temple (TX) Lake Belton High announced his commitment to Arkansas Friday night.

The 6-foot-4, 170 pounder chose the Razorbacks over Texas, TCU, and USC.

Bridges on why he chose Arkansas

“The coaching staff, the culture, and how they already had big plans for me. They have a 3 year plan set up for me already.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“Me and coach Woodson are probably the closest but Wilson, T Will, and Pittman have a great relationship with me too. I will be the boundary corner.”

Selman Bridges Scouting Summary

“Tall corner with quick feet and coverage instincts. Among the taller top cornerbacks in the 2024 cycle. Has a thin build, checking in at close to 6-foot-3 and under 160 pounds in the off-season prior to his senior year. Has good length for the position with 32-inch arms. Posted a 4.27 short shuttle at Under Armour’s Dallas camp. Flashes that change of direction on Friday nights. Lines up as an outside cornerback for Lake Belton. Shows strong instincts in coverage. Reads and jumps routes. Does a nice job in changing gears to stay in phase. Shows encouraging fluidity for a taller corner with his ability to redirect. Picked off two passes in addition to six pass breakups as a junior. Looks to be quicker than top-end fast.”

Bridges ranks as the No. 76 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 9 cornerback and the No. 15 player in the state of Texas.

The Lone Star State defensive back joins coach Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks’ top 20 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star defensive lineman Charleston Collins, four-star athlete Courtney Crutchfield, and others.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $108K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

As a sophomore, he had 200-meter dash times of 22.91, 23.09 and 23.13 seconds. He also was a member of Lake Belton’s Texas 5A regional-qualifying 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams.”
