One of Arkansas‘ top basketball recruits from the 2022 class exited during the team’s game against South Dakota State on Wednesday night, with a Jordan Walsh injury requiring trainers to assist him off the floor and into the locker room.

It was unclear exactly what happened to Walsh, who first appeared to start limping on a defensive possession around the 16-minute mark in the second half.

As Arkansas transitioned to the offensive end of the floor, Walsh set a screen near the top of the arc, then came up limping awkwardly as officials called a foul away from him. Walsh then limped over to the bench and was helped to the locker room.

“Manny, this is not a good sign,” ESPN broadcaster Brett Dolan said on the call. “Still not sure what happened to Jordan Walsh, but he looks like he’s in quite a bit of pain as he was helped to the locker room.”

Walsh had recorded 10 points, three steals, a rebound, an assist and a block in the game prior to his exit.

Arkansas led 60-37 at the time of this writing.

“Yeah, I mean any time you have to go back to the locker room it’s not good,” broadcaster Manuale Watkins said. “Hopefully it’s not too serious, but he was howling for a good 45 seconds over there before they stopped play.”

Jordan Walsh injury yet another Arkansas dealing with

It’s early in the college basketball season, but Arkansas has already dealt with plenty of injury problems and a Jordan Walsh injury is the last thing coach Eric Musselman would have wanted to deal with.

The Razorbacks had just begun getting a few dinged-up players back.

Already this season Ricky Council IV has dealt with an elbow injury, Trevon Brazile has battled an ankle injury and Anthony Black was helped off the floor in a win over North Dakota State with a knock. All three were in action on Wednesday night against South Dakota State.

But the Hogs are still playing without star Nick Smith (right knee), who was expected by some to be the team’s leading scorer.

Smith has not practiced, limited to doing shooting and rehab on his own with a team trainer. His status continues to be listed as day-to-day by Musselman.
