The Arkansas Razorbacks have had a resurrection of their football program under Sam Pittman’s watch the past few years. This offseason, the Hogs had tremendous success in plucking seniors from the transfer portal that have contributed to the team for just one season. In his most recent press conference, Pittman discussed what a tremendous impact a number of players have had that he reeled in via the transfer portal.

Matt Landers, [Latavious] Brini, J.D. [Jordan Domineck], Terry Hampton, there’s a lot of those guys. I’m looking up here at my board to see if I’ve missed anybody but you know those guys came in, Bates, Jacob Bates has been very valuable to us. They came in and it’s like going into a new house or a new family. It’s just different for ’em,” Pittman noted.

“And it took some adjustment for some of ’em. And some of ’em came right in and it went easy and well for them. I can’t tell ya there’s a guy that we got out of the portal, that’s kinda what you’re talking about here, that we’re not happy that we have. And they’ve done a nice job for us,” Pittman said.

Pittman did an excellent job in finding contributors from the transfer portal for the 2022-2023 season

Matt Landers is currently second on the team in catches. He’s hauled in 37 catches for 663 receiving yards, which leads the team. Latavious Brini has stuffed the stat sheet in a number of areas. He’s racked up 44 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, one interception, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery. Jordan Domineck has been a highly disruptive force in the backfield, racking up 7.5 tackles for loss (second on the team) and 6.5 sacks (second on the team). Terry Hampton has chipped in with 21 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and one sack.

Sam Pittman and the Hogs will take on the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday night. Kick off for that one is slated for 7:30 PM EST.
