Temple (Texas) Lake Belton four-star cornerback Selman Bridges will announce his college decision on July 14, with a top schools list that includes Texas, Arkansas, USC, TCU, Oregon, Texas Tech, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.

Ahead of his decision though, it’s one school who is trending heavily in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM): Arkansas.

After expert picks in favor of the Razorbacks earlier this week from Texas recruiting insider Gerry Hamilton and On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman, Arkansas holds a hefty lead over the other teams still involved in his recruitment.

“Bridges was not expecting to be ready to make his college decision until the fall, but there has been a change in plans after a trio of June official visits,” Spiegelman wrote on Monday. “The On300 cornerback from Texas made stops at TCU, Arkansas and Texas, and was at USC as recently as this spring.

… This has boiled down to the Longhorns and the Razorbacks. Since arriving in Fayetteville, Marcus Woodson, Deron Wilson and the Razorbacks have been coming strong for the four-star from Central Texas. They’ve turned it up a level since the June 16-18 official visit.”

Selman Bridges Recruiting Profile

The 6-foot-3, 160-pound Bridges is the No. 76 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 9 cornerback and the No. 15 recruit in the state of Texas.

As a junior, he recorded 46 tackles, had six pass breakups and returned one of his two interceptions for a touchdown.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this about him as a prospect:

“He is a tall corner with quick feet and coverage instincts. Among the taller top cornerbacks in the 2024 cycle. Has a thin build, checking in at close to 6-foot-3 and under 160 pounds in the off-season prior to his senior year. Has good length for the position with 32-inch arms. Posted a 4.27 short shuttle at Under Armour’s Dallas camp. Flashes that change of direction on Friday nights.

… Lines up as an outside cornerback for Lake Belton. Shows strong instincts in coverage. Reads and jumps routes. Does a nice job in changing gears to stay in phase. Shows encouraging fluidity for a taller corner with his ability to redirect. Picked off two passes in addition to six pass breakups as a junior. Looks to be quicker than top-end fast. Will need to add considerable mass to his thin frame at the next level.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
