The Sweet 16 is officially underway on Thursday night for the 2022 NCAA Tournament and the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs are currently squaring off against the No. 4 seed Arkansas Razorbacks. Razorbacks guard JD Notae is one of the most electrifying scorers in all of college basketball and tonight, he’s showing his skill on both ends of the floor.

Check it out below as he had an epic chase down block on Gonzaga guard Rasir Bolton early in the first half.

Notae is one of the most complete guards in America and he’s got the stats to prove it. During the 2021-2022 college basketball season, he averaged 18.4 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, and 3.6 assists per game. The first half of the Gonzaga-Arkansas game was highly entertaining, with both teams making plays on both ends of the floor. The ‘Hogs lead the Zags at the half, 32-29.

Notae performed beautifully in the first half for Arkansas, pumping in 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. He also had a nice coast-to-coast layup at the end of the half to put his team up by three. Forward Jaylin Williams also scored seven points and corralled eight rebounds in the first half for the Hogs.

Eric Musselman on his star guard, JD Notae

Earlie in the season, Arkansas head coach Eric Musselman compared JD Notae to Steph Curry.

“I told an NBA buddy of mine today — we were talking about our team — and I said the thing that makes (Notae) so dangerous is he shoots from anywhere,” Musselman said. “He’s like Steph Curry in the fact that those guys shoot from wherever, whenever. You think they’re absurd shots and they go in and they stretch the defense out. It really puts pressure on defensive teams because I never know when he’s going to shoot, so I don’t know how the heck they ever know when he’s going to shoot. I have no idea half the time when he pulls, but I do want to ball in his hands.”
