Auburn Tigers Recruiting Weekend Preview | Chances to Flip Ryan Williams

Over 40 schools offered 2025 4-star tight end Ryan Ghea. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound junior out of Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton has been taking visits since his freshman year. He got an early start to his recruitment and after once thinking he would take it into 2024, Ghea has made his decision.

“I have committed to Auburn,” Ghea told On3. “I visited Auburn last Tuesday, then on Thursday night, I called Auburn and committed to them. It came down to Auburn, Michigan and Ohio State.”

That visit last week was big. He was out of school, so he spent the entire day on the Plains around the coaches and the team. All of his questions were answered and he left feeling good about the Tigers.

Auburn being just two hours from home was a factor, but there was much more that drew one of the best in the Peach State to the SEC program.

“My relationships with the Auburn coaches definitely were important. Coach Ben Aigamaua recruited me when he was at Liberty. I was his first offer when he got to Auburn, so we have a great relationship. I have strong relationships with Coach Logan Bradley and Coach Hugh Freeze too.

Ghea loves how Auburn prioritizes tight ends

One of the biggest changes under Freeze has been Auburn’s use of tight ends, and that’s been a majpr selling point for him.

“Then the way Auburn uses their tight ends [is big],” he said. “I like the tight ends in the room, how Auburn gets them involved and Coach Freeze has shown he can produce tight ends too. … Auburn has a great atmosphere to play in too. I was at the Samford and Georgia games. Jordan Hare Stadium is popping on Saturdays. It is so loud.”

Ghea now plans to be back as an Auburn commitment for the New Mexico State and Alabama games. The No. 268 prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings is excited about the direction of the Auburn football program.

“Coach Freeze is bringing Auburn back to where it used to be,” Ghea said. “He is a great coach that will push his players to the best. If you make a mistake, he wants you to learn from it and to get better. I like him as a coach and what he wants to teach as a person.”

Ghea is the sixth prospect to commit to Auburn in the 2025 class. The Tigers are pushing for a top-five class in the Team Rankings.
