Peachtree City (Ga.) Mcintosh three-star tight end Hollis Davidson has decommitted from Auburn, he announced on Monday.

He was pledged to the Tigers since Feb. 6, when he chose them over Miami, Florida, and Florida State.

“I would like to thank Auburn University and the entire coaching staff, especially Coach Freeze and Coach Aigamaua, for giving me the opportunity to play football at the next level. However, after much prayer and many conversations, my family and I feel it was too early to have a commitment set in stone. Therefore, I have decided to decommit from Auburn university and re-open my recruitment. Again, I can’t thank Auburn enough for the opportunity. Please respect my decision,” Davidson wrote on X.

Davidson is the No. 409 overall prospect and No. 23 TE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 44 player in Georgia.

Tigers lose member of top-10 recruiting class

The loss of Davidson’s pledge leaves Auburn with nine commitments in its 2025 class. The class ranks No. 10 in the nation and No. 5 in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Six blue-chip recruits headline Auburn’s 2025 class. In mid-April, Mobile (Ala.) Williamson four-star offensive tackle Carde Smith joined Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star OT Tavaris Dice, Highland Home (Ala.) four-star EDGE Jakaleb Faulk, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker four-star defensive lineman Jourdin Crawford and Opelika (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Malik Autry.

The class also includes commitments from Buford (Ga.) four-star cornerback Devin Williams, Athens (Ala.) offensive tackle Spencer Dowland, Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton tight end Ryan Ghea and Kannapolis (N.C.) A.L. Brown three-star IOL Tai Buster.
