Labaron Philon, a four-star point guard in the 2024 class, has committed to Auburn.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound junior out of Mobile (Ala.) Baker HS chose the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and others.

Philon is one of the nation’s leading scorers, averaging 36 points per game.

According to the On3 Consensus, the Alabama native ranks as the No. 38 overall prospect in the country. The On3 Consensus is the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies (ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, On3). On3’s evaluators are even higher on him, ranking him 34th overall in the class. Philon is also the No. 1 player in the state of Alabama for the 2024 class.

Philon is the third player to commit to Auburn in the class of 2024. He joins four-star point guard Tahaad Pettiford (No. 27), who committed earlier in the week, and four-star big man Peyton Marshall (No. 60).

Philon on his commitment to Auburn

“I chose Auburn because I felt it was the best school to put me in a great situation, even outside of basketball,” Philon said to On3. “I believe coach Bruce Pearl can get me to the next level with the greatness of coaching he has.”

What type of player is Auburn getting in Labaron Philon, in his own words?

“I would describe my game as a combo guard, one of the top guards in the country that can get it done on both ends of the floor. I can score the ball at will and play on or off the ball.”

Philon has a message for Auburn fans.

“Auburn fans, I want to thank you guys for helping recruit me and making me feel at home. Me and the other guys coming in with me, we’re going to be a great team together. Coach Pearl is gonna help us reach the National Championship.”
