Two weekends ago, Buford (Ga.) four-star cornerback Devin Williams was set to make a trip to Notre Dame, but weather delayed him from heading to South Bend.

Instead, the 5-foot-11, 168-pounder made his way to Alabama and visited Auburn. Williams made multiple trips to The Plains in 2023 and once again saw the Tigers on the weekend of Jan. 20. As the Tigers continue to pursue the blue-chipper, Williams is mirroring the interest as he announced on Friday that he’ll be back on campus this weekend.

Over 30 Power Five programs have offered Williams. Of those schools, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State and Notre Dame have had him on campus for multiple visits. Programs are looking to separate themselves from the pack, and Hugh Freeze and the Tigers now have another opportunity to do just that.

“It was great, I loved it,” Williams told Auburn Live after his January visit.

Williams was able to spend time with Freeze, CBs coach Wesley McGriff and others on the Tigers’ staff last month. The trip was such a success that Williams went as far as saying Auburn was a “finalist” for his pledge.

“They sit pretty high on my list,” he said.

With another visit on deck, the Tigers can continue to show the four-star that he’s a priority in the 2025 class. Competition will remain stout for Williams as he continues to work through his recruitment.

He is the No. 115 overall prospect and No. 14 CB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 17 player in Georgia.

Auburn on track for another elite recruiting class in 2025

The Tigers are on pace to finish the 2024 cycle with a top-10 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings — and Freeze and Co. are already off to a hot start in the 2025 class. The junior corps already features eight commits and checks in at No. 8 in the nation and No. 3 in the SEC.

Thomasville (Ga.) Thomas County Central four-star safety Kendarius Reddick leads the way as the No. 73 recruit and No. 7 safety in the On3 Industry Ranking. Auburn’s top six pledges are all on the defensive side of the ball, including Saraland (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman, Highland Home (Ala.) four-star EDGE Jakaleb Faulk and Birmingham (Ala.) Parker four-star DL Jourdin Crawford.
