Auburn’s Devan Cambridge has entered the transfer portal, he tells On3. The 6-foot-6 junior has decided to look elsewhere after spending the last three seasons with head coach Bruce Pearl.

Cambridge entering the portal comes just four days after the Tigers suffered an 18-point loss to Miami in the second round of the NCAA tournament. This season, Cambridge averaged 5.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in just under 20 minutes a game. In the 2020-21 season, Cambridge had a larger role, averaging just over 25 minutes a game, and scoring 8.9 points per outing.

The former Auburn Tiger has at least two years of eligibility remaining.

“First and foremost I would like to thank the man himself, “Bruce Pearl,” and the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime. Also, I would like to thank my Auburn family for the unconditional love you have given me for 3 years. #WarDamnEagle Since my first season as an Auburn Tiger we’ve made history and nobody will ever be able to take that away from me. This place I call home has made me into a better man, student, athlete, and I will always cherish that for life. No matter how hard it may be for me to leave everything we have created together. Things have to end for a new beginning to form. So with that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal. Bounceman Out,” Cambridge said in a statement to On3.

Cambridge’s older brother, Desmond, entered the transfer portal on Wednesday. The elder Cambridge averaged  16.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game this season at Nevada.

A native of Nashville, Cambridge transferred to Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix for his senior year of high school. As a three-star prospect, Cambridge committed to Auburn over offers from Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, and others.
