Auburn safety Donovan Kaufman enters NCAA transfer portal
Auburn safety Donovan Kaufman has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Kaufman is a former starter for the Tigers. He appeared in 12 games in 2023, making four starts.
This past season, Kaufman had 37 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and an interception. He transferred to Auburn after starting his career at Vanderbilt in 2020.
Coming out of high school, Donovan Kaufman was ranked as a three-star recruit in the class of 2020, according to the On3 Industry rankings.
He played in two games as a freshman at Vanderbilt, recording 15 tackles.
After transferring to Auburn, Kaufman immediately made an impact for the Tigers. In his first year at Auburn in 2021, Kaufman started for Auburn and recorded 33 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, three pass break ups and three forced fumbles.
In 2022, Kaufman finished with 39 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and two pass breakups.
He had another strong season in 2023 and is now on the move for the second time in his career.
