It has been a wild couple of weeks on the recruiting trail for Hugh Freeze’s Auburn staff. The Tigers flipped a pair of five-stars in Foley (Ala.) wide receiver Perry Thompson and Clanton (Ala.) Chilton County School linebacker Demarcus Riddick. Now, Auburn is the new leader in the recruitment of Lake Cormorant (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Auburn Live insider Cole Pinkston entered an expert prediction for the Tigers to land Franklin’s commitment at a 60% confidence level. Auburn jumped Tennessee in the RPM and now have a 59% chance to land Franklin. Tennessee sits in second at 30.3%.

“It was a good, good visit,” Franklin told Auburn Live after visiting for Big Cat Weekend. “Also, I got to talk more and spend the day with Coach (Jeremy) Garrett. I enjoyed that. I also talked to Coach Freeze 1-on-1 and spend time with him before the dead period.”

Franklin has strong relationships at Auburn

Franklin took official visits to Miami and Tennessee in June. He is scheduled to officially visit Auburn in September after having taken multiple trips to the Plains this summer.

“I have a great relationship with coach (Jeremy) Garrett,” Franklin told Auburn Live. “Him and coach (Hugh) Freeze want me to come and change the program. That means a lot to me. Coach Garrett gets me. He understands me. He knows where I come from. I know where he comes from. We just connect real good.”

Franklin is the No. 37 overall prospect and No. 7 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Mississippi.

Franklin currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $167K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
