Four-star cornerback Jalyn Crawford of Lilburn (GA) Parkview High announced his commitment to Auburn Saturday afternoon.

The 6-foot, 190 pounder chose the Tigers over LSU and Florida.

Crawford on why he chose Auburn

“When I started to break down my list of offers I based on the place and where I will be living. Then communication between me and the coaches to see if they were really interested in me. Also going to the actual school and talking to them face to face and seeing how the environment really is. Finally the distance and how far I would be from my parents.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“I talk to coach Freeze and Crime the most and we talk almost everyday. We ultimately have a great player coach connection. I also talk to coach Zac. We have a good relationship and I have a good personal connection with all the coaches and gm’s.”

Crawford ranks as the No. 192 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 22 cornerback and the No. 26 player in the state of Georgia.

The Peach State defensive back joins coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers’ top 25 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star quarterback Walker White, four-star linebacker Joseph Phillips, and others.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $73K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Personal Life (via On3)

“Jalyn Crawford said he is pleased with how much success he’s had on the high school level at Lilburn (Georgia) Parkview, but he’s working hard at further refining his craft for college and beyond. “I’ve been working hard at off-man (coverage),” Crawford told 11 Alive. “In the (NFL) and in college, they do more off-man coverage. Some teams do press, but it’s more off-man systems. That’s why it’s something I’ve been really working on and trying to get better at.” While at Parkview, Carter earned a reputation as a press coverage corner that can lock anybody down. “I love to compete,” he said. “That’s what I love best about playing cornerback. When the ball is in the air, it’s mine.” Away from football, Carter enjoys lifting weights. His favorite musician is Lil Baby, and his favorite snack are Flamin’ Hot Doritos. Carter has a 3.4 GPA, and he plans on majoring in architecture. His father is Jason Crawford.”
