Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County four-star athlete Jalewis Solomon has committed to the Auburn Tigers. He announced the news on Twitter.

The 6-foot-0, 185-pounder is the No. 269 overall prospect and No. 11 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 31 player in Georgia.

Solomon was in town visiting Auburn last week for Big Cat Weekend. He has built relationships with Auburn corners coach Wesley McGriff and Tigers’ head coach Hugh Freeze.

“Man, Coach Crime (Wesley McGriff) is electric,” Solomon told Auburn Live. “He always make sure I have a good time and he shows me love here. He makes me feel like an Auburn DB right now.”

The opportunity to play for Freeze resonated with Solomon. Freeze coached Ole Miss from 2012 through 2016 before taking over at Liberty. He is entering his first season at Auburn and has started to put together one of the better recruiting classes in the nation.

“I would love to play for Coach Freeze,” Solomon said. “Like why not? He kind of made the point when I was talking to him, when he beat Bama in (2014-15), it’s like man, that is different. He was saying whenever I get here that he was going to make me a big impact for this team. I feel wanted here. I wouldn’t mind playing for Auburn.”

Solomon currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $51K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
