Andalusia (Ala.) four-star running back J’Marion Burnette made his latest visit to Auburn last weekend for the Tigers’ 21-17 loss to LSU. During his trips, the 6-foot-1, 210 pound tailback has gotten a chance to talk with head coach Bryan Harsin.

Burnette posted a photo Tuesday of he and Harsin speaking near midfield before an Auburn game. The Alabama native has visited the Tigers four times since April, including on Sept. 17 for the Penn State game and July 30 for Big Cat Weekend.

“It’s going to be up there,” Burnette told Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Live about his interest in Auburn. “I mean, it’s in-state, close to home. It’s always going to be a home.”

Burnette is the No. 109 overall prospect and No. 8 running back in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Alabama.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Auburn has a close lead for Burnette’s commitment at 42.3%. Alabama has the next-best odds for his pledge at 37%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Burnette has an On3 NIL Valuation of $74K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
