Bryan Harsin has bared the brunt of Auburn faithful’s frustration this week. While many believe Harsin won’t survive with the Tigers much longer, many of his current and former players have come out in support of him.

One of those is former Auburn defensive lineman Tony Fair. In a statement posted to Twitter, the former Tigers defender emphatically endorsed Harsin.

“I’m not about to let y’all down talk Coach Harsin like his character sucked or he wasn’t a good Head Coach,” tweeted Fair. “Everybody has jobs to do and if you’re not doing it then next man up. This man is not y’all momma or daddy. He’s y’all Football coach that believes in winning and competing.”

Continuing, Fair’s tweet was accompanied by a passionate statement regarding Harsin and his coaching ability.

“Coach Harsin gave us nothing short of ‘WorkHardWork.’ He brought a competitive edge to everything we did and you need that in this level of ball,” stated Fair. “What HEAD coach runs with his players while they’re conditioning? Harsin did. I didn’t receive the time on the field I would have liked but that don’t take away from him being a damn good coach. He trained us to be war ready.

“The record we got don’t come from his coaching. It came from the cancers on the team that spread and are still spreading. This is what we dealt with this season. The only word to describe what Coach Harsin is doing is Chemo. Those cancers will be gone.”

As you can see, Tony Fair is passionate about Bryan Harsin. While it hasn’t been the easiest week for the Auburn coach, seeing many players support him must be a great feeling.

Auburn tight end on Harsin: ‘He is the leader I want to have in my corner.’

In addition to Tony Lamar Fair, Auburn tight end John Samuel Shenker has come to the defense of his head coach. Shenker opted to return to Auburn for another season, choosing to play under Harsin again instead of pursuing professional opportunities.

Now, Shenker is coming to bat for the embattled Tigers coach.

“Listen and Listen Carefully: @CoachHarsin is my football coach! He is the leader I want to have in my corner,” Shenker said of Harsin. “If you have a problem with his Discipline, Toughness, and Conviction that he instills in his players than get your entitled, selfish, and soft tail out away this program.

“I’ll go into a foxhole with guys who love each other and back up Coach Harsin! Also, if you reporters think this “publicity” is giving you credibility, you are more naive than I thought. Come out to a workout or practice and write about things you see instead of things you want to hear. WDE.”

As you can see, Bryan Harsin has just as many supporters as he does detractors. Time will tell if the words of his players are enough to keep him at Auburn for another season.
