Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star offensive tackle Tavaris Dice has committed to Auburn.

He chose the Tigers over the likes of Florida, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee.

Dice is the No. 241 overall prospect and No. 22 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 33 player in Georgia.

Dice became a frequent visitor on The Plains toward the end of 2023, making multiple game visits to see the Tigers in action. That was quickly followed up by a pair of Junior Day visits in January and February. Hugh Freeze and his staff found momentum and capitalized, having now landed Dice’s pledge.

“Coach Thornton, Coach Freeze, Coach Cox, they have always been treating me good ever since I came down here. I appreciate that,” Dice told Auburn Live after a Junior Day trip.

“Come up there, do what I have to do,” he said of what Auburn’s message to him has been. “No coach is ever going to tell you that you’ll start, because he would be lying to you. If I go up there, keep doing what I have been doing, just keep grinding and getting big, ball out in practice, I’ve got a really good chance to start as a freshman.”

Auburn Class Breakdown

Five blue-chip recruits now headline Auburn’s 2025 class.

Dice joins Highland Home (Ala.) four-star EDGE Jakaleb Faulk, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker four-star defensive lineman Jourdin Crawford and Opelika (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Malik Autry.

This class also includes commitments from Buford (Ga.) four-star cornerback Devin Williams, Athens (Ala.) offensive tackle Spencer Dowland and a pair of tight ends in Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton’s Ryan Ghea and Peachtree City (Ga.) Mcintosh’s Hollis Davidson.

“I committed to Auburn,” Williams told On3. “It was a different feeling. I was planning some visits in the spring, I thought I would take official visits, but over the last four or five days, it just hit me. The more I thought about it, I knew Auburn was where I wanted to be. I knew it was time to commit and I knew Auburn the school.”

Williams locked down his commitment to the Tigers at the end of February.

“Auburn showed a lot of love. They have been the leader in my mind for a while. The coaches have been consistent, they have always recruited me hard and the four or five times I have visited, it has just felt right. I kept going back because of that feeling. My commitment date moved up, but Auburn has always been high on my list.

“Since the new staff came in, they have reached out, they have checked on me, they ask about school and they have just made sure I am good. That meant a lot. Auburn showed me they wanted me and every time I was there, it felt like home.”
