Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Lee’s Summit North five-star defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri received an offer from Auburn Wednesday. He announced the news on Twitter.

Nwaneri is the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Missouri.

On3 rates Nwaneri higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Nwaneri is the No. 2 overall prospect in the country.

The 6-foot-6, 250-pounder holds several Power Five offers and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Oklahoma as the heavy favorite to land a commitment from Nwaneri at 77.4%.

Nwaneri recently visited Georgia and following that visit, he added the Bulldogs to his list of official visits. He currently has three set for Georgia, Missouri and Oklahoma.

“It definitely exceeded what I thought it was going to be,” Nwaneri told On3 following the Georgia visit. “It was just amazing all around. They definitely looked like a national championship team.

“They win for a reason. Everybody’s big. They’re stacked at almost every position. It was something I’ve never seen before.”

Nwaneri started off the new year with visits to Tennessee (Jan. 14), Oregon (Jan. 21) and Missouri (Jan. 28) in January. This spring he’s already visited Oklahoma, Kansas State (March 9), LSU (March 11), Georgia (March 18) and will visit Iowa State (March 23) and Nebraska (March 25) later in the month.

Williams Nwaneri currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $311K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
