Baylor announced it canceled its Green and Gold spring game due to inclement weather, according to a release from the football program.

Originally slated as a game in front of fans, the Bears will conclude practice without its showcase game Saturday. That’ll be the end of the spring portion of practice for Baylor.

Baylor announced it’ll move its event to the indoor facility.

“Due to the threat of inclement weather for the Central Texas area, Baylor football’s Green & Gold Game on Saturday at McLane Stadium has been canceled,” the release read. “Baylor will now hold its final spring practice of the season on Saturday at the Allison Indoor Practice Facility.

“The event will be closed to the general public due to limited space available and on-going construction for the Fudge Football Development Center and the Allison Facility. The Bears opened their spring practice season on March 19 and will conclude the 15-practice schedule on Saturday.”

That won’t be the end of all events this weekend however.

“Events as part of the Green & Gold Weekend still on tap include a baseball series with Kansas featuring the red-hot Bears, who have won nine of their last 10 games, on Friday (6:30 p.m.), Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.),” the release read. “Softball hosts UCF for a three-game set on Friday (6:30 p.m.), Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (12 p.m.), and the annual Michael Johnson Invitational concludes the home regular-season track & field schedule for the Bears on Friday and Saturday.”

Baylor in on recruitment of transfer Jacurri Brown

Transfer Miami Hurricanes quarterback Jacurri Brown just entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal and is already receiving a healthy amount of interest from programs across the country. Of those programs, On3’s Steve Wiltfong says Baylor is among them.

“Schools that have expressed interest in Jacurri Brown right now have been App[alachian] State, Baylor, Georgia State, Mississippi State and UCF. Others have reached out as well but those look to be the most serious out of the gate,” Wiltfong said.

Although Brown has seen limited time on the field at Miami and just has three stars to his name (with a 1-2 record as a starter), his size and skills at the position make him one of the more intriguing quarterbacks and the spring transfer window.
