Logan Brooking camped at Clemson early in June. He left Death Valley without an offer from the Tigers. Dabo Swinney, Kyle Richardson and the staff liked what they saw though. Almost a week later, the 2025 tight end out of Savannah (Ga.) Savannah Christian picked up an offer from the ACC program.

From that point on, every visit and school was compared to Clemson. The No. 256 prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings named his top eight schools earlier this week, but he felt there was no reason to wait on his commitment.

“I knew where I wanted to go,” Brooking told On3. “Four schools really stood out; Clemson, Miami, Stanford and Penn State. South Carolina was up there too, but the first time I stepped on campus at Clemson, I knew it could be the school for me.

“It was a completely different feel from other places. I was there for camp and it was different. Compared to everywhere else I had been, it was a different feel. I went through the recruiting process a little more, I took other visits, but I had the realization that Clemson was where I needed to be.”

Brooking is Clemson’s fourth commitment for the 2025 cycle. Easton Ware committed to the Tigers earlier this week. Blake Herbert and Gideon Davidson were the first two junior to commit to Swinney.

The family atmosphere at Clemson captured Brooking’s attention

Brooking took in games at Clemson, Miami, Penn State and Stanford this fall. He took everything in. He listened to the pitch by each school. Nothing changed his feelings about the Tigers.

“I knew before I had the offer that Clemson could be the place for me. Over this past month, I really made my decision 100% on Clemson. The family atmosphere makes Clemson different for me.

“Coach Swinney’s Christian background makes that feeling all over the campus feel different. Football is a business, and that is going on there, but the Clemson coaches really want to make you into a better man. They love the players, they want success outside of football for their team and that has always had my attention.”

The atmosphere was the most important factor in Brooking’s decision, but there is more he likes about Clemson. The history of the program, its success over the last decade and player development also appeal to Brooking. He believes in Swinney, he loves what the Clemson program is about and his decision has been made.

“This is it for me. I have shut my recruitment down. I will be taking no more visits. Clemson is where I want to be. Coach Dabo loves his players. I have had great interaction with him, he is genuine and this is a fluke year. I am 100% confident that Clemson be back. Coach Dabo will have them back on track very soon.”
