Midlothian (Texas) five-star wide receiver and current Clemson commit Bryant Wesco has often been mentioned in the recruiting rumor mill as a potential candidate to flip from Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder put a rest to those rumors on Monday night. Wesco announced on social media that his recruitment is now closed.

“While I am thankful for all the coaches and schools that recruited me, I am 100% locked in to Clemson. My recruitment is closed,” Wesco wrote.

Wesco is the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 6 WR in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 5 player in the Lone Star State and Clemson’s highest-ranked commit.

He committed to Clemson on June 6, picking the Tigers over LSU, TCU, and USC. The family aspect played a major factor in his decision.

“The thing that stood out to me is how close they all are,” Wesco told On3 upon his commitment. “Everyone at Clemson interacts as one big family and the long term reputation that Clemson has held with WR success and the program success In general was also a big factor.”

Oklahoma and TCU remained in pursuit of the wideout, as both have frequently been in the mix and had him on campus multiple times. TCU’s Malcolm Kelly and Oklahoma’s Emmett Jones were leading the respective recruitments, but Wesco wasn’t budging.

“Oklahoma and TCU have been in contact with me,” Wesco told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “They’ve been talking to me about our lives, so it’s not so much recruiting and just relationship building. I’ve known Coach Emmett for a while. He was the first to offer and I got to know him for a long time. His season has been going great at Oklahoma and all their players have done fantastic.”

“Props to them and how their seasons are going,” he continued, “but I’m set for Clemson and I let them know that, and they know that.”

Wesco has an On3 NIL Valuation of $274K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
