Clemson won in thrilling fashion on Saturday in a road matchup with Florida State defeating the Seminoles 82-81 thanks to a go-ahead three-point play by Chase Hunter with 4.5 seconds remaining. The Tigers secured the win without their fourth-leading scorer Brevin Galloway, who suffered a bizarre injury during a team workout, and head coach Brad Brownell was still is uncertain about his injury status following their win.

“I don’t, he didn’t travel with us. We’ll obviously touch base with him tomorrow and see how he’s doing,” Brownell said.

Galloway suffered a frightening testicular injury during a team workout last week, but gave a promising update in the hospital last Thursday. He joined the Tigers this offseason following a four-year stint with the College of Charleston followed by one season with Boston College.

He made an immediate impact for Clemson upon his arrival, earning a spot in the starting lineup since game one of the season for the Tigers and scoring in double figures in all but four of the 21 games he’s played in. Galloway has averaged 10.6 points per game this year and ranks second on the team in steals and assists per game.

Saturday’s game versus Florida State was the first one of the season he has missed, and hopefully he can return to their starting rotation sooner than later for the Tigers.

Brevin turns testicular injury into ballsy NIL opportunity

The story of why Clemson’s Brevin Galloway missed the Tigers most recent game is, well, nuts. And the sixth-year guard has parlayed his testicular injury into a masterful NIL moment.

If you go to brevingalloway.com you can purchase a T-shirt or sweatshirt sporting one of two testicular double entendres. And they’re quite affordable, too.

The first is a play on “The Nutty Professor,” an Eddie Murphy film. The T-shirt depicts Galloway over the words “The Nutty Professor” with a pile of acorns in the foreground

The other design shows Galloway in a jersey with his name superimposed behind him. But across the chest of the jersey Galloway is wearing? “BALLSY.”

Allowing NIL has led to some unique and hilarious marketing campaigns and apparel — and Galloway is simply obliging with the latest iteration. And it’s certainly good to hear he’s expected to fully recover.

Maybe the T-shirt proceeds can offset the copay.
