Class of 2023 tight end Olsen Patt Henry has officially signed with Clemson.

The playmaker made things official on Wednesday after committing to Clemson on June 7.

Henry is rated as the No. 20 tight end and No. 359 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus rankings.

He held offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma and others.

“I’m so thankful to all of my coaches for pushing me and believing in me on and off the field,” Olsen Patt Henry said as part of his tweet when committing to the Tigers. “With that being said, I’d like to announce my commitment to Clemson University.”

Henry joins a tight ends group that has a couple of really good playmakers returning in Jake Briningstool and Sage Ennis.

Freshman Josh Sapp could also play a role for Clemson next year after redshirting in 2022.

While some talented players return, there is still an opportunity for playing time.

Star tight end Davis Allen is turning pro. The Georgia native is currently second on the team in receptions with 35 for 394 yards and five touchdowns.

Clemson is also losing senior tight end Luke Price, who is used mostly as a blocker.

Henry is one of two tight ends in Clemson’s 2023 recruiting class, joining three-star prospect Markus Dixon.

Olsen Patt Henry had an exceptional high school career, catching exactly 61 passes for more than 1,000 yards in each of the past two seasons.

He caught 61 passes for 1,159 yards as a senior and 61 passes for 1,053 yards as a junior. He finished with 13 touchdowns as a senior and 17 as a junior.

For his high school career, he finished with 160 receptions for 3,068 yards and 40 touchdowns.

Clemson tight ends coach and passing game coordinator Kyle Richardson did an excellent job of recruiting Henry. The prospect has been invited to the All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
