Finally. Once upon a time, Justyn Ross was a consensus future first round selection. However, when the time came for the former Clemson star, the pass catcher was undrafted, and his market moved slow in the days following.

However, a team has finally taken a chance on the talent Ross possess, as the Kansas City Chiefs are signing the former Clemson star to a free agent contract. On Monday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported the news.

“Clemson WR Justyn Ross is signing with the #Chiefs to their 90-man roster, per source,” tweeted Schultz. “Ross led the ACC in receiving as a freshman in 2018, ranked fifth nationally with 21.7 YPC and was second in receiving touchdowns. He also stands 6-3, 210 pounds.

“.. Justyn Ross is a fantastic player who endured several injuries throughout his collegiate career, inc: Congenital fusion in his spine. Stress fracture in his left foot. Covid. This is the only reason why he wasn’t drafted. Super talent, super kid, great fit w/the #Chiefs.”

As Schultz mentioned, Ross is a stud — but fell in the draft due to a myriad of injury concerns. Still, the Chiefs will get a steal if the former Tigers pass catcher can stay on the field.

Last season, Ross had 46 catches for 514 yards, catching three touchdowns before suffering a major foot injury.

Moreover, Ross arrived at Clemson as a four-star recruit and the top-ranked prospect in Alabama, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Before last season, the former Clemson star entered the year as the No. 5 wide receiver prospect in the ACC, according to Pro Football Focus. During the football season, CBS Sports projected him to go as high as No. 32 overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While watching teams pass on him throughout the NFL Draft, Ross was motivated — tweeting, “Just need dat 1 chance.”

Alas, Justyn Ross is getting it, and it couldn’t be with a better squad. The supremely talented former Clemson star is also feeling supremely slighted and he’s be looking to put the NFL on notice now.
